Have you ever met a furry, four legged wet nosed therapist? As a matter of fact you may be living with one already.
This class is an overview of therapy animal work. You will learn about becoming a registered therapy team.
Animals do not attend.

II - Handler Training Workshop
(Enrollment limited)
The Handler Training Workshop combines lecture, discussion and role playing and an onsite visit with a registered therapy team. It covers the fundamental information needed to succeed as a Therapy Team.  Learn the skills needed to visit safely with your animal in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, treatment centers and more. Through the lecture, group discussion and role playing, you will discover how to interact effectively with clients and keep your animal safe in all visiting situations. You will be able to witness the joy that a visit from a therapy animal brings to clients of all ages. And witness for yourself... "THAT NOT ALL MEDICINE COMES IN A BOTTLE." The workshop is taught by experienced, licensed instructors. The goal of our workshop is to prepare you and your animal for the Team Evaluation.

Prerequisite: For attending the Team Evaluation.

Successful completion of this course and the Team evaluation, fulfill the requirements for registration as a Delta Society Therapy Team.

III - Four Week - Therapy Skills Level II Class
This class is offered to those teams who have attended both the Seminar as well as the Workshop. In this one-hour, four week course you will practice obedience skills. Handlers will learn what is required of not only their dog but of themselves...remember you are being evaluated as a TEAM. Learn how to build upon the skills you already have with your animal and feel confident going into the Team Evaluation.

When refering to the class use the term - Therapy Skills Level II - Donna has numerous other classes running at the same time.

IIII. Therapy Team Evaluation Refresher Class
Handlers who are due for renewal testing (PPSAT) often feel anxious about going through the test again. Even teams who visit regularly can benefit from reminders of key handling skills. The handlers will also be updated on the latest Delta Society policies and procedures. In this one-hour course you will learn how to build upon the skills you already have with your therapy animal to feel confident going into the PPSAT. The course is taught by licensed Instructors. Dogs not included.
