In terms of time commitment, both clients and facility staff enjoy visits from Mid South Therapy Dogs & Friends and look forward to them. For some clients, it's the highlight of their week. MSTD volunteers are known for their dedication and typically make a regular commitment to the facility they choose to visit, e.g. weekly or bi- weekly.
Being a volunteer takes not only time, but there are also costs** associated with becoming a therapy team. Items to consider budgeting for include:
